VH1 scored big with its original movie CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.
The TLC biopic, starring actresses Drew Sidora, 28, Keke Palmer, 20, and Lil’ Mama, 24, premiered October 27th and attracted 4.5 million viewers, making it the highest-rated cable movie of the year.
According to Nielsen, CrazySexyCool which chronicles the popular 1990s R&B group’s rise to fame, is the network’s highest-rated telecast in more than five years.
But the numbers don’t stop there. Fans of the 90s girl group are showing up in record numbers to support the girl band that created chart topping music for over twenty years.
TLC’s latest greatest hits album, titled “20”, was released on October 20th and is on it’s way to top 20 of the Billboard 200 chart.
The album features 13 re-released hits, along with one new song, “Meant to Be”, that was also featured in the film.
The overwhelming response from fans goes to show the impact this music group had on the hearts and minds of their fans.
