Seeing TLC walk the red carpet at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards may have brought back a lot of good memories for many, but the ladies said they haven’t gone anywhere.
“We never broke up,” T-Boz told People. “We’ve been doing shows overseas every year and have been busy being mommies. Chilli and I see each other all the time.”
And although they’ve been out of the spotlight for quite some time, they’ve remained close. “We’ve been through everything together,” explained T-Boz. “We’ve got kids, got married, experienced divorces and deaths. And when I needed someone, she was always there for me. We will always be together.”
Chilli followed up with the same family sentiment, calling T-Boz her sister. “We have unconditional love for each other and a tight bond that nobody can break. We have the type of relationship where we tell each other everything. Sometimes too much!”
And even though they’re moving full steam ahead in their careers, it doesn’t mean they have forgotten about their late sister Left Eye. Chilli says she’s always with them. “There’s never a moment when we don’t think about her, especially when we’re doing performances. I still miss her very much.”
The trio’s rise to fame, including their ups and downs, will air on VH1 this fall. TLC co-signed a biopic about their lives, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story, starring KeKe Palmer, Lil Mama and Drew Sidora.
