- Toni Braxton is a hot topic this morning. Not only did her reality show debut last night on WE, but she’s opening up about her very public money woes. She told Black Enterprise that her biggest financial mistake was putting her own money into her Vegas shows. “Because of that, I had to file a business and individual bankruptcy. If I had to do it over again. I would get investors. I understand why you do it yourself because of the security; but putting your own money up isn’t always the best idea.” She went on to say she did treat herself every now and then, but never to anything too extravagant. - Rihanna continues to break records. She’s scheduled to perform a 10th date at London’s O2 Arena — making her the first artist in history to do so. [Punch Bowl Blog]
- Alicia Keys is celebrating the 10th anniversary of her debut album, “Songs in A Minor,” with a commemorative edition album complete with unreleased songs and a documentary. She’ll cap it off with a New York performance on June 30th. Keys will also take the stage at this year’s BET Awards as well. [That Grape Juice]
- As Oprah’s days on network television are winding down, the stars get bigger and bigger. The Obamas are set to appear on the May 2nd episode of Oprah — though it will be taped on April 27th while the Obamas are in Chicago for a fundraising event. [Black Voices]
- Mary J. Blige is pulling some music heavy hitters for her FFAWN event this coming May. She tapped Queen Latifah to co-host the event while Christina Aguilera, Anita Baker, Jill Scott, Jennifer Hudson and Corrine Bailey Rae will perform. Her foundation is responsible for sending numerous young girls to college with a four-year scholarship. [The Boom Box]
- Halle Berry and ex Gabriel Aubry appeared in court yesterday. The pair were finalizing their child custody agreement. According to TMZ, the judge was quite happy with the progress they have made and said they’re “on the verge of an agreement — and a truce.” [TMZ]
