Black women have long taken pride in our “crowning glory,” going to great lengths to curl and crop our coifs while making history along the way. Creating and wearing unique hairstyles is common among Black women, but a select few Black hair moments have been emblazoned in our minds forever. 

Who can forget when The Supremes rose to stardom in a bevy of big, bouffant wigs or when stars like Toni Braxton and Halle Berry made the pixie cut popular in the Nineties?  Nowadays, celebs such as Rihanna and Solange are making their hair the talk of the town while simultaneously becoming modern-day hair icons.
