Trend Watch: Shearling Jackets

Cropped shearling jackets are going to be to 2010 what black leather jackets were to 2009–a versatile piece every woman will want to own. The throwback jacket was all over the New York Fashion Week runways in a number of colors like wine, grey, black and brown, and cut in many different ways. Burberry sent luxurious cropped shearling jackets with large floppy collars and fluffy white trim down the runway recently at the London shows. The updated leather jacket in shearling is such a lux addition to your outerwear collection. Paired with skinny jeans and over-the-knee boots, the shearling moto jacket is more ski resort chic than rocker chick. Throw it on with wide leg trousers for a polished aviator feel or with a short pleated skirt for an haute twist on the collegiate look.
