Trey Songz is celebrating his 30th birthday by performing 30 acts of kindness. As part of what he’s calling the “30/30 Acts of Kindness,” the R&B singer will perform at least one random act of goodwill a day in the days leading up to his 30th birthday.
“I think the amazing thing about giving back is that it’s a feeling that you can’t buy,” Songz told PEOPLE Now. “I know what it’s like coming up and not really having a lot of food in the fridge. I know what it’s like with my mother having to get clothes from the Salvation Army. I know what it’s like to be poor.”
The new initiative will also help to kick off the 4th Annual Angels with Heart Month. Songz started the foundation to “engage his fan club members to have positive impacts on their communities.”
Songz is encouraging fans to give back to their communities in any way they can, whether it’s volunteering their time or donating to charities.
“Nobody makes it in this life without help and if we can help somebody, the feeling you get is indescribable,” Songz said.
