Trey Songz was singin’ a different love song tonight.
The “Trigga Reloaded” singer opened up to ESSENCE about the transcendental beauty of Black women everywhere.
“I was raised by Black women,” Trey said. “I love Black women. I didn’t have a male figure in my life; I had my mother, all my aunties. The strength of them gave me a certain strength.”
The crooner went on, saying that Black women were “everything” to this world. He recalled his recent journey to Africa, praising our wide range of diversity.
“It’s a beautiful thing to see,” he said. “Just the differences in all of us, from the texture of our hair to the color of our skin. There are so many different things that are beautiful about Black women.”
