President Donald Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida, resort was scheduled to be closed on Monday for cleaning after several cases of the novel coronavirus were confirmed at the location.
According to CNN, Mar-a-Lago is going through a deep clean, with the exception of the beach club, which is separate from the main club area.
Several people who ended up testing positive for COVID-19 were at the club last week, including the press secretary for Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro.
Additionally, one of the nearly 900 people who attended the Trump Victory fundraiser brunch at Mar-a-Lago on March 8 later tested positive, according to the report. It is unclear when the individual contracted the virus. However, Trump’s communications director Tim Murtaugh insisted that “there was no interaction” between the individual and the president during the event.
Trump did undergo testing for COVID-19 earlier this week, and his doctor, Sean Conley, confirmed that those results came back negative.
