President Donald Trump is being accused of mocking the news that a Baltimore house belonging to Rep. Elijah Cummings, whom he recently attacked on Twitter, was burglarized over the weekend.
“Really bad news!” The president tweeted early Friday morning. “The Baltimore house of Elijah Cummings was robbed. Too bad!”
According to USA Today, police are investigating the burglary that took place during the early morning hours of July 27.
There are mixed reports as to whether the burglary occurred at the home in which Cummings resides, or if it is a rental property he owns, according to the Washington Post.
Although Trump only recently tweeted about the burglary, it actually took place hours before he launched his racist attack on Cummings and the city of Baltimore, calling Cummings’ district a “disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess.”
Social media took Trump’s recent tweet mocking the burglary at Cummings’ home as another attack, accusing the president of inciting crime against the congressman and mocking him.
