The southern African country of Namibia has been on everyone’s lips after President Trump mispronounced its name at a UN summit Wednesday in New York.
The President mistakenly referred to it as “Nambia” while talking with African leaders at a gathering: “In Guinea and Nigeria, you fought a horrifying Ebola outbreak. Nambia’s health system is increasingly self-sufficient.”
At it didn’t just happen once. He messed up the name twice during the event.
There is Namibia, then there is Zambia and The Gambia. But definitely no “Nambia.” Once the The White House later clarified that Trump was talking about the southwestern African nation of Namibia, the internet promptly took the baton and had a field day with the President’s gaffe:
What has been overlooked is that Namibia has made some incredible advances with its economy and, like Trump said, its health systems.
Another great international showing from President Trump!
