President Donald Trump got in his feelings on Sunday night over an MSNBC town hall and decided it would be a good idea to blast a variety of people – including model, author, and television personality Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend.
That was his first, and last mistake.
It all began when Trump started venting about the criminal justice reform town hall that was aired on MNSBC – put off by the fact that the network didn’t credit him or other Republicans for signing the First Step Act into law.
“I SIGNED IT INTO LAW,” Trump tweeted. “No one else did, [and] Republicans deserve much credit.
“When all of the people pushing so hard for Criminal Justice Reform were unable to come even close to getting it done, they came to me as a group and asked for my help.” he added. “I got it done with a group of Senators & others who would never have gone for it. Obama couldn’t come close….”
And then he went on to attack singer and EGOT holder Legend, who appeared in the townhall, as well as Teigen herself…for some reason.
“Guys like boring musician [John Legend], and his filthy mouthed wife, are talking now about how great it is – but I didn’t see them around when we needed help getting it passed,” Trump raved. “‘Anchor’ [Lester Holt] doesn’t even bring up the subject of President Trump or the Republicans when talking about it.”
Notice that Trump didn’t directly tag Teigen the way he tagged Legend. And on the one hand, perhaps he couldn’t rub the brain cells together to remember Teigen’s name.
On the other hand, maybe it was a bit of self-preservation on his part , as anyone who knows Teigen knows that she is an esteemed Lady of the Clapback Realm, and as such, Teigen gathered the president by his toupee most expeditiously.
“Lol what a p–sy a– b-tch,” Teigen tweeted. tagged everyone but me. an honor, mister president.”
But she didn’t stop there, oh no, she tweeted a picture of her decorating her daughter’s first day of school sign reminiscing, “Luna, remember the night before your first day of school? When mommy was making your sign and the p–sy a– b-tch president had his 9th meltdown of the day.”
Then Tiegen hit Trump with the Mean Girls “Why are you so obsessed with me?” noting in another tweet “the absolute best part of his tweet is I literally didn’t speak in the special, nor was I mentioned.”
“I’m cackling at the pointless addition of me because he cannot not be a b-tch,” she added.
Like any supportive husband, Legend also quickly jumped into the fray, begging first lady Melania Trump to come get her man.
“Imagine being president of a whole country and spending your Sunday night hate-watching MSNBC hoping somebody–ANYBODY–will praise you. Melania, please praise this man. He needs you,” Legend wrote.
“Your country needs you, Melania,” he quipped.
And now currently #filthymouthedwife and #TeamChrissy are both trending in the United States
There was a moment when the hashtag #PresidentPussyAssBitch surfaced, although Legend and Teigen claimed that they “didn’t” want the hashtag to trend.
