After years of setbacks and troubles, it seems as if Tupac’s life will officially receive the biopic treatment.
According to Deadline.com, Emmett Furla Oasis Films is teaming up with Morgan Creek to co-finance the once cash-strapped film. Famed director Antoine Fuqua, who’s responsible for Training Day, Tears of the Sun and this’s summer’s action film Olympus Has Fallen, is set to direct the film.
Filming is scheduled to begin in February 2014 in Atlanta with a budget of $45 million.
If fans are worried that the upcoming biopic won’t be authentic in terms of music choices, full rights will be granted. Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, will produce the film.
A lead actor has yet to be announced.
