Grammy Award winning singers Yolanda Adams and Seal made Palm Sunday that much more uplifting with powerful vocal performances during Fox’s The Passion.
Tyler Perry Teams Up With FOX for Live-Action Easter Musical
Hosted and narrated by prolific filmmaker Tyler Perry, the semi-live musical took place in New Orleans and offered a modern take on Jesus’ last days. An estimated 6.6 million viewers tuned in to the special, which starred Jencarlos Canela as Jesus, Seal as Pontius Pilate and Trisha Yearwood as the Virgin Mother. Meanwhile, Adams led the choir and rocked the crowd with renditions of “When Love Takes Over” and “When the Saints Go Marching In.”
And Twitter enthusiastically chimed in:
1. I love Jesus! And Jencarlos.

2. Chris Daughtry can sing ANYTHING!
2b. So can Trisha Yearwood.
3. Everything should end w/ Yolanda Adams.
Meanwhile, a large number of viewers heaped praise on Seal for both his impressive singing and acting. His cover of Tears for Fears’ “Mad World” was especially haunting:
Why has Seal never been cast as a villain before?! He is so good. #PassionLive
