According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tyler Perry’s OWN drama The Haves and the Have Nots is seeing impressive numbers a month into its sophomore season. The show has achieved a series high, up 3.35 million viewers from a previously recorded 2.84 million viewers. The new numbers makes it the top-performing scripted program in OWN’s history.
The Haves and the Have Nots outperformed every other cable series Tuesday night, including Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Trophy Wife and Killer Women.
The latest episode pulled a record 2.6 rating with its target audience, women 25-54. With the exception of NBC’s The Biggest Loser, the show was the most popular series among adult women on Tuesday night.
Perry’s sitcom Love Thy Neighbor is not mirroring the success of The Haves and the Have Nots. Since its debut high of 1.65 million viewers, the show’s popularity has slowed down with last week’s episode averaging just 892,000 viewers.
OWN has acquired Perry’s TBS sitcom For Better or Worse and recently announced a series order for Perry’s comedy Single Moms’ Club, set to join the schedule in Fall 2014.
