Over the course of her career, Tyra Banks has achieved numerous career milestones—she is one of the world’s most successful supermodels, a celebrated entrepreneur and her television gigs are ratings gold. However, there’s one milestone that she is still reaching for: motherhood.
The FABLife host opened up to People magazine about her fertility struggles and how, at the age of 41, she is holding on to her dream of mothering a “litter” of children.
“Since I was 24, I used to say every year, ‘I will have kids in three years,'” Banks said. “I kept saying it over and over again. Because my business is very entrepreneurial. I’m not for hire, so I have to do everything. I kept trying to find that time for that to happen.”

Banks, though, is still waiting for the right time. She said that the weight of the situation hit her last year.
“When I turned 40, the one thing I was not happy about is that I did not have kids,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Damn, the clock is ticking!'”
Banks admitted that she has undergone various rounds of IVF treatment with her boyfriend of two years, photographer Erik Asla. Though she hasn’t seen results just yet, the outspoken model is holding out hope.
“I don’t just want one child,” she said. “I want a litter! And I want to be the kind of mom where my child can come to me for anything.”
