Good things do come to those who wait. Just ask Arthur McGee, who was honored at a luncheon at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday. The fashion designer, who became the first African-American to head a design studio in 1957, was feted by the industry’s top movers and shakers, according to Women’s Wear Daily. In attendance were agent Bethann Hardison, Vogue editor-at-large Andre Leon Talley and producer Susan Fales-Hill. While McGee is not as well-known in wider fashion circles, he was a pioneer who once sold his clothes at Lord & Taylor.”—BB
