On Wednesday, Usher finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a long overdue honor in the eyes of many fans.
For Usher, receiving the star was not only proof of his hard work, but an opportunity to celebrate those who helped him achieve it.
“I don’t just celebrate this moment by myself. I celebrate it with those people who invested in me, those people who loved me through my hard times,” Usher said in a speech after receiving the honor.
According to Billboard, fans began lining up bright and early for the ceremony, which included guest speakers Terry Lewis and Harvey Weinstein, who called the singer and actor a “triple-threat talent like a James Cagney or Michael Jackson who could do everything.”
Kelly Rowland, Miguel, Will.i.am, Stevie Wonder, and Usher’s co-star in the Hands of Stone, Edgar Ramirez, were also in attendance.
Usher also thanked his mom for helping guide him and surrounding him with the right people.
“Mom, thank you for everything and all the people that you’ve actually helped to bring here.
