ESSENCE.com recently had the chance to catch up with “Basketball Wives” star and executive producer Shaunie O’Neal. The fabulous mother of five dished on the season finale, her friendship with Evelyn, and tonight’s upcoming reunion special. Watch the exclusive interview here…
As cast members and friends, O’Neal said shooting the show with the other wives is both a challenge and adventure. “You see a big argument but somewhere in that episode you see love too,” she said. “We have this love hate thing.. you have to think about it, we’re together three months filming everyday so we get on eachother’s nerves at some point.”
Yet, she said this season has been rewarding and a great way way to connect with viewers. “Everyone normally relates to someone on the show,” O’Neal said. “I always get the ladies who say we can relate to somebody on the show… ‘Oh Evelyn’s like my friend and niece or this one’s like that and you’re like this.”
And of course, let’s not forget tonight’s big reunion episode. Without spoilers, O’Neal said the reunion will be very entertaining, with audiences getting a peek into Royce’s real feelings about the show and Evelyn after the big fight.
