Thereโs no denying that the best inspirations often come from glamazons of the past. Author Nichelle Gainer had this in mind when she crafted Vintage Black Glamour, an extensive collection of candid photos of entertainers dating as far back as the 1900โs.
The special edition tome is home to approximately 150 images of artists like Josephine Baker, Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday, and lesser-known artists including Gainerโs aunt, opera singer Margaret Tynes.
โMany of these pictures havenโt been seen in decades because the photographer may have taken 20 shots but maybe one made the newspaper,โ Gainer told NBC in a recent interview.

The coffee table book isnโt available until this summer, but you can pre-order it now here.
