Ivorian-British model Aya Jones is serving all types of Black beauty in the March issue of Vogue Spain (Vogue España). The cover, shot by photographer Nico Bustos and styled by hairstylist Karim Belghiran depicts Jones wearing cornrows, and flaunts the coverline, ‘Black is beautiful.’
To get the look, hairstylist Karim Belghiran, received much help from local Botswana women. In a recently Instagram post, the stylist posted a photo of them working together as a team to complete the look.
Recently, society has called Kim Kardashian’s cornrows as boxer braids, but it seems as if Vogue España is taking the more progressive approach and celebrating the roots of the African culture.
Perhaps, American Vogue can take a hint and celebrate us for once. We’ll wait…
