When Amy Winehouse made up her mind to do something, there was little anyone could do to sway her.
Despite her years of drug abuse, PEOPLE reports that the singer’s family believes she may have died from withdrawing cold turkey from heavy drinking. This, despite doctors’ advice to gradually reduce her intake.
“Abstinence gave her body such a fright, they thought it was eventually the cause of her death,” a source told UK’s Sun Newspaper.
A recent autopsy was inconclusive, and her family thinks their suspicions will be correct when the toxicology report is revealed in a few weeks.
