The “I Will Always Love You” singer plays Sparkle’s mother Emma, in the remake of the classic film. Her rep continues, “People get paid to make movies. [Houston’s] not broke.”
Radar Online reported yesterday that Houston had blown through the accumulated fortune she earned over the course of her 27-year-career. The gossip site claims that Houston is being supported by “music industry heavy-hitters” and that she is indeed “broke.” A source told Radar that she even had to call to borrow $100.
Sparkle is set to hit theaters on August 10.
