Late music icon Whitney Houston may have been laid to rest in February 2012, but the star only recently received her headstone.
The teardrop-shaped stone feature Houston’s birth date, death date and the words “The Voice.” The simple stone also displays Houston’s face and reads “I will always love you” at the bottom. Houston was laid to rest next to her late father, John Russell Houston Jr., in Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, N.J.
Weeks after Houston’s sudden death, autopsy reports declared she died of an accidental drowning in her hotel bathtub. The autopsy results also concluded that heart disease and “chronic cocaine use” also played a role in her death.
Since her passing, the family has kept the Houston name in the headlines. Last fall, they launched a new reality show, The Houstons: On Our Own. And Bobbi Kristina’s on-again off-again romance with family friend Nick Gordon just got serious, the couple recently shared engagement news via Facebook.
