Ciara is not concerned about the flack she recently received for introducing her one-year-old son Future to her new beau Russell Wilson. The reason why may surprise you.
In an interview with CBS This Morning Ciara was asked if it’s true that her ex-fiancée, rapper Future, was upset about their son already spending time with Wilson.
“It’s been very interesting to hear what a lot of guys have to say and I feel like in a sense it’s a bit of double standard, you know, because at one time when we were together I took care of his kids as well at a very young time in our relationship,” the singer told hosts Gayle King and Charlie Rose.
Wilson was recently photographed at a practice playing with baby Future, who was seen wearing a Seahawks jersey sparking many fans to seemingly side with Ciara’s ex and say she went too far. She says that’s nothing new for them.
“I was involved very early in the stage of us getting to know each other, and that’s been a big conversation,” Ciara continued after referring to ex Future’s three other children. “It’s kind of like what’s the difference here? I think that even for the men that were outspoken, wouldn’t you want someone to love on your child, or love on the child that you’re speaking about?”
Ciara admitted that she’s used to being judged, but not to seeing her son judged along with her.
“People are going to talk about me,” she said. “I was built for this, this is what I’m supposed to be doing. People are going to talk about you all the time. But when it comes to your child, it’s something I don’t take lightly.”
