In a recent interview with news.com/au while promoting his upcoming action film, Suicide Squad, Will Smith made it a point to address Donald Trump’s ongoing deragatory statements about women.
“For a man to be able to publicly refer to a woman as a fat pig, that makes me teary. And for people to applaud, that is absolutely f**king insanity to me,” Smith told news.com/au. The A-list actor continued, saying, “My grandmother would have smacked my teeth out of my head if I had referred to a woman as a fat pig. And I cannot understand how people can clap for that. It’s absolutely collective insanity,” he said shaking his head.
President Obama Calls Donald Trump “Unfit” to be President
Obviously frustrated with the GOP’s presidential nominee, the DC Comics actor didn’t stop there. Smith defined the importance of true leadership, and points out the reasons why Trump does not fit that module.
“The importance of leaders is that they have to be level headed, they have to be calm, because when people get scared, they lose their morality and that reptile mind takes over. It’s the type of thing that you see in all forms of nature, but our leaders can’t be that,” said Smith.“I think as much as we want to believe that love is the greatest human motivator, it’s not. Fear is. Fear is the most dangerous and powerful motivator because when a human being gets scared, fight or flight kicks in.”
While this election’s official bid for president could very well just end in a coin toss, Smith hopes people will open their eyes and not let Trump’s power-by-fear mentality affect them at the polls in November.
