Just a day before Haiti’s presidential elections, Fugees co-founder Wyclef Jean has been shot and released from the hospital in Haiti. The artist — who is in the country campaigning for presidential candidate and entertainer Michel Martelly — was treated for a gunshot wound to the hand, according to Huffington Post.
Jean was wounded late Saturday night in Delmas, a city east of Port-au-Prince, Joe Mignon, an officer with Jean’s Yele foundation told the Associated Press. Although Mignon and Jean’s brother, Samuel, have confirmed the shooting, further details about the incident have not been released.
Yet, despite the recent events, Jean’s publicist has recently told CNN the rapper is “doing well.”
We hope you recover soon Wyclef!
