Over the weekend, Nene Leakes landed in hot water after telling a heckler at her comedy show that she hoped they’re raped by an Uber driver.
Leakes later apologized for the comment, writing on Instagram, “Sometimes, words can cut deep and hurt when you have no intentions of them doing so. As a woman and someone who has survived abuse, I regret the words that I used. I made a mistake, and I should have known better.”
Rumors have also circulated that the outburst may have cost Leakes her spot on Real Housewives. In this ESSENCE Now segment, we talk about The Real Housewives of Atlanta star’s comment.
