New York Fashion Week is a national holiday for all the fashionable fiends who dare to be couture. And here at Black Girl Magic headquarters aka ESSENCE, celebrating Fashion Week takes on a melanated twist.
ESSENCE Fashion House debuted at the 2019 Essence Festival and the one-top-shop for all things Black and fashion continued its stylish tour during NYFW. Filled with Black designers, editors, bloggers, models, makeup artists, hairstylists and talent for a two-day event in New York City, ESSENCE Fashion House was basically Wakanda.
Through an array of programming, including runway shows, master classes and panel discussions, ESSENCE Fashion House helps cultivate a new conversation around fashion and diversity on the runway, while highlighting leading voices in the industry.
From fashion advocates such as Bethann Hardison and iconic stylists June Ambrose to emerging designers such as Fe Noel, Sukeina and more, there was no shortage of Black fashion representation during ESSENCE Fashion House.
