This is We See You Sis, an emotionally penetrating video series aimed at celebrating Black women who make an impact online, while digging deeper into their emotional health and well-being beyond their most “liked” posts.
Nina Parker rose to TV host greatness right in front of our very eyes. Over 10 years ago, the Nightly Pop and Dating No Filter host was miserable, she says.
Parker tells ESSENCE that she was depressed, eating her feelings and stuck in misery.
“I felt handcuffed to a place I didn’t want to be and when I finally moved towards my purpose, everything moved quickly,” she says in our latest We See You Sis video.
The move Parker made was to the gossip site TMZ, where she was eventually promoted to a producer. Now, Parker is slaying every red carpet you could think of from the Grammys, Oscars, Golden Globes and more for E! TV.
Parker has gotten so far away from misery, that it’s now a distant memory.
The host says, “To be seen is something important, especially as a woman of color. We move in this world often feeling so ignored and invisible.”
Not anymore. We see you, sis.
