Tems was one of the best-dressed entertainers on the champagne carpet yesterday at the Oscars — even if her gown caused a bit of controversy online.
The singer-songwriter wore a white floor-length gown from Lever Couture with a thigh-high split and structured hood that was created by Ukrainian designer Lessja Verlingieri. And when we asked Tems about choosing the look for the night, she told us simply, “Her work is beautiful. I just had to, I just had to.”
Inside the Dolby Theater for the 95th Academy Awards, Tems was seated in the third row of the auditorium and the hood, unfortunately, blocked the view of fellow guests seated behind and beside her. But nobody said fashion was convenient.
Check out our interview with Tems in the video above as she talks about what her Oscar nomination meant to her and why she says, “I’m going to keep pushing.”
